Twila Lou (Douthit) House, 71, passed away on February 13, 2023 in Norman, Oklahoma. The daughter of Hubert Morgan Douthit and Alice Joy (Littrell) Douthit, Twila was born in Wynnewood, Oklahoma on April 27, 1951.

Twila grew up in Wynnewood, graduating from Wynnewood High School. She also graduated from Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee with her bachelor’s degree in Journalism.

She met the love of her life, Paul Leon House and they married on November 30, 1974. While living in the Northern part of Oklahoma, Twila worked on the newspaper staff of the local papers in Grove, Miami, and Skiatook. She later began a career at Tinker Air Force Base where she worked with the DLA in contract negotiation. Twila retired after 35 years of service with Tinker. She and Paul lived in the Mustang/Yukon area for several years, then to Bridgecreek for about ten years and in Newcastle for the last eleven to twelve years.

Twila loved being able to walk outside her house and enjoy the animals and nature around her home. She also loved to garden and was quite a whiz on the computer. One of her greatest joys was to fish. Twila loved vacations at the lake and spending time fishing. She loved Jesus, and attended Quest Church before moving to Medical Park West for the last three years. She enjoyed personal worship time and study with Paul on Sundays since living there and not being able to attend church. She will be greatly missed by her family and those who knew her.

Twila is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Paul Leon House of Newcastle; daughter Stefanie Campbell and husband Richard of Norman; granddaughters, Kaitlyn Snider and Kylah Nelson; one great grandson, Azakyah Halbert; brother, Duane Douthit and wife Karen of Mustang; brother-in-law, John House and wife Sheila of Houston, Texas; sister-in-law, Mary House of Ashdown, Arkansas; and other loving family members and friends.

Funeral Services for Twila will be at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, February 21, 2023, at the Eisenhour Funeral Home Chapel, Blanchard, Oklahoma. Interment to follow in the Newcastle Memorial Gardens.
