Juanita Wynne age 101, of Newcastle, went home to be with her Lord on Friday, December 13, 2019.
Juanita was born August 19, 1918, in Newcastle and lived all of her life in Newcastle except for the past two years. She was the middle child born to John Elmer Williams and Nora Frances (Bond) Williams. Juanita grew up a farm girl and learned how to work hard in the cotton fields when she was young. She attended the Newcastle schools and married the love of her life at the age of 16 years. On March 16, 1935, she married Charles Floyd Wynne and together they raised four sons, Denny, Donnie, Ira and Lee. She and Floyd also taught their sons the value of hard work and raised them up on the farm. Juanita worked most of her life as a homemaker, as a farmer’s wife and as a mother. After her sons were raised she worked over 20 years as a secretary at Norman Plumbing Supply.
Juanita was a faithful Christian and a lifelong member of the Newcastle First Baptist Church. For many years she taught Sunday School, GA’s and helped with Vacation Bible School. Throughout her life she was active in the Newcastle community and with the Newcastle Schools. She assisted many students in programs such as, 4-H, FFA and Home Economics. Juanita was a wonderful cook and seamstress and a member of the Newcastle Home Extension Club. She entered her canning and sewing in the local county fairs and hand made all of her children and grandchildren quilts.Visitation with family will be on Tuesday, from 6-8pm at Wilson-Little Funeral Home, 3132 Tri City Ave, Newcastle.
Burial will be at the Blanchard Cemetery.
