Julia Rosetta “Rosie” (Pool) Brooks, 85, of Blanchard, died Monday, November 27, 2023, in Chickasha.

The daughter of Hugh N. Pool and Irene (Martin) Pool, she was born in Dibble on August 21, 1938.

Rosie graduated from Blanchard High School in 1956 and went to work at Right Way Café as a waitress. There she met Sedall Brooks and they married on November 30, 1957. They were married for 64 years at his passing in July of 2022. Rosie went to work for the IRS and worked as a Branch Chief. She retired after 30 years of service at the age of 55. After that retirement, she worked for 10 plus years at Blanchard Drug and Gift.

Rosie loved singing, especially at her church, Crossroad to Life Baptist Church. She also enjoyed her regular Friday Hair Salon appointments, going to get her nails done, and wearing her big rings and earrings from her huge collection of jewelry. She loved spending time with her family. Rosie made it a point to go to all of her kids, grandkids and even her friends’ grandkids sporting events. She also enjoyed watching all OU sporting events. Her grandchildren say she was the “best back tickler.” Rosie was a good cook but was best known for her fried pies and the world’s best chocolate gravy. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Sedall Brooks; one great grandson, Case Houston Smith; two sisters, Ruth “PeeWee” Peters and Joyce Ann Hoover; and three brothers, Bob, Gene, and Harold Pool.

Rosetta is survived by her son, Stephen “Steve” Keith Brooks and wife, Maria Cristina of Blanchard; two daughters, Bonita Renee Brooks of Blanchard and Lisa Irene Turner and husband Danny of Chickasha; six grandchildren, Michael Deason, Jr. and wife Breanna, Braxdan Sedall Turner and wife Kealey, Caitlin Julilane Smith and husband Carson, Manuela Puerto, Pablo Angulo, and Sara Angulo; ten great grandchildren, Madison, Abigail, Parker, Tucker, Paisley, Maddax, Saylor, Kennedy, Bryson Sedall, and Tyson; one great-great grandchild, Hudson; one brother, Billy Pool of Blanchard; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other loved ones and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, December 4, 2023, at the Crossroad to Life Baptist Church in Blanchard. Burial will follow in the Blanchard Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home of Blanchard. Online obituary and guestbook are available at www.eisenhourfh.com.
