August 11, 1944 - March 21, 2008

Funeral Services for Elizabeth "Liz" Roberts, 63, of Fairview, will be held at 1:30 pm, Wednesday, March 26, 2008, at the Mennonite Brethren Church of Fairview. The Reverends Brad Penner, Paul Bartel and Leonard Vogt will officiate. Burial will follow in the South Mennonite Brethren Cemetery. Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.

Elizabeth Jean Roberts was born August 11, 1944, in Pittsburg, Kansas, to Albert "Lowell" and Elizabeth "Pearle" Laughlin and passed away March 21, 2008 at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Enid, Oklahoma.

Elizabeth graduated from Pittsburg High School and attended Bethany Nazarene College in Bethany, Oklahoma. She worked for Woolworth's in Pittsburg for a few years. On February 25, 1967 Elizabeth married David Roberts, of Fairview, in Pittsburg. She and David were blessed with three children. Elizabeth was a very supportive wife and mother and chose to be an "at home" Mom and homemaker for twenty five years. Then she returned to work at Alco in Fairview where she worked for 14 years.

Elizabeth was an active member of the Fairview Mennonite Brethren Church. She taught Sunday school and children's church, was on the local and state MCC boards; taught Wednesday night children's class, was a special event youth sponsor, leader with the Pioneer Girls and nursery fair coordinator and teacher.

She is survived by her husband David Roberts of Fairview; two sons, Daniel Roberts and wife Jennifer, and Nathan Roberts and wife Vanessa, one daughter, Rev. Ruth Ann Miller and husband Steve, all of Tulsa; one brother, Albert Laughlin and wife Janice of Enid; one sister, Charlotte Cook of Pittsburg, Kansas; and six grandchildren, Camden, Katelyn, Abygail, Micah, Samuel and Victoria. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother-in-law.

In lieu of flowers, donations and memorials can be made through the Fairview Funeral Home to the Oklahoma Mennonite Relief Sale.
