November 23, 1927 - October 22, 2020

Dorcie Mae (Bierig) Williams was born Nov. 23, 1927, at Isabella, Okla., the daughter of Fred Bierig Sr. and Edith Amanda (Simpson) Bierig. She moved with her parents from the Ringwood ranch to Fairview in 1932. She attended grade school in Fairview, eighth grade in Long Beach, Calif., moving back to Oklahoma the last month of school and attending a country school, Cimarron Valley. Her freshman year she attended Ringwood High School, her sophomore year she attended school at Roseburg, Ore., before moving back to Oklahoma and attended Okeene High School her junior and senior years. Dorcie then attended Stephen's College for Women at Columbia, Mo.

She and Charles Williams were married at Fairview, Okla., on Sept. 25, 1948. They were married for 36 years.

Dorcie was baptized and a member of the Central Christian Church. When she was young she helped in the church nursery and in Sunday school. She was active in the Order of Rainbow for girls, serving in all stations and as worthy advisor, in later years she helped on the advisory board. Because of her interest and devotion to Rainbow, she was awarded its highest honor, the "Grand Cross of Color." She was a member of the Eastern Star, Rebecca Lodge, American Legion Auxiliary, past president of Gamma Mothers, Epsilan Sigma Alpha sorority, assistant chairman of Meals on Wheels, and assistant chairman of American Heart Drive for several years. She was a member of P.E.O., 3 bridge clubs, Fairview Flight Club for 33 years and Oklahoma and International Flying Farmers. She helped with the Fairview Fly In since it started back in 1984. Dorcie also helped her husband Charles with the AAU swim meets held in Fairview for 11 years. She served on the board of directors at Security State Bank of Weatherford and Alfalfa County Bank of Cherokee, Okla., from 1979 to 1983. Upon retiring she moved to her farm between Okeene and Fairview. Dorcie spent her final years at her home on Sooner Drive in Fairview.

Dorcie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Charles; brothers Gary Lee Bierig and Fred Bierig Jr. Survivors include her daughter, Dr. Vickie Beth Williams; grandson Wesley Charles Willits and great-grandson Cagan Charles Willits; one nephew, Mike Bierig and one niece, Karen (Bierig) Newberry.

Memorial services will held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2020, at Central Christian Church, 223 E. Broadway, Fairview, Okla., with Pastor Jeff Knighton officiating. Inurnment will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Fairview Central Christian Church through Pierce Funeral Home, P.O. Box 15, Fairview, OK 73737.
