Arthur Lance Waddell
May 15, 1967 - January 2, 2023

Arthur Lance Waddell (better known as Lance) was born May 15, 1967 in Bridgeport, TX, and passed away at St. Mary's Hospital in Enid, OK on January 2, 2023. Sometime after his birth, the family moved from Texas to Milledgeville, IL where Lance was raised and where he graduated high school in 1985. Lance has had many different jobs. He drove a truck, moved to the Tulsa/Claremore, OK area where he started his own business building homes, apartments, and businesses. He was also a great welder. He moved to Fairview, OK in 2013. This is where he met his wife Rena Waddell on January 31, 2014, and they were united in marriage on November 14, 2016.

Lance's other loves included horses, and racing cars. He raced at Longdale Speedway for 5 years, and he built his own race cars. He had a great passion for racing, so when he was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma (bone and blood cancer) and had to stop, it was really hard for him. Lance had to go through a lot from brain surgery, to chemo and radiation, and all of the pain, but he never stopped fighting. He still went to work every day. He made sure his family was taken care of, and he never gave out excuses.

Lance had also worked at Martens Machine Shop for many years for Paul and Lori Martens, and he was working for Ewbanks Geo of Fairview at the time of his passing. Kiley Ewbanks, Todd Ralston and Jeff Wichert were all good friends whom he loved very much.

Lance is preceded in death by his father William Waddell, and his mother Marilyn Selman.

He is survived by his wife Rena Waddell of Fairview, OK; his son Dusty Waddell of Tahlequah, OK; his step daughter Amanda Hale and her partner Dakota Newman, and granddaughter Maiwen of Fairview, OK; his step son Michael Hale and his wife Jennifer, and granddaughter Jamie Hicks of Cleo Springs, OK; his step daughter Jordan Parsons of Fairview, OK; his brother Bissell Shaver of Tulsa, OK; his sisters Crystal of Claremore, OK and Billie Joe Law of Kansas; his brother Will Atchley of Fairview, OK; his Aunt and Uncle Marilyn and Ronnie Selman of Illinois and many nieces, nephews, and his pets Bear and Sister Dog who he loved very much. Lance's racetrack moniker was Bam Fool #00. He can now drive that race car as much, and as fast as he wants. He will be sorely missed, and he is loved by many.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 7, 2023 at the First Baptist Church of Fairview with Keith Robinett officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Pierce Funeral Home, Fairview. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society with the funeral home serving as custodian at P.O. Box 15, Fairview, OK 73737. Condolence messages may be made at www.piercefuneralhomes.com.
