Doris was born March 27, 1929 to Charlie and Hattie (Siegman) Story in Canton, Oklahoma and passed away on February 4, 2014 in Fairview, Oklahoma

Doris attended school in Oakwood, OK graduating high school there. Shortly following graduation she married Robert ( Bob ) Smith on June 4, 1947. They were blessed with three children Connie, Bobby, and Buddy. In 1954 they moved to Fairview, OK when they reopened the Fairview Sale Barn. Doris helped Bob at the sale barn while working alongside her husband at sale barns in Watonga Cherokee and Elk City. She also worked at Miebergen’s Meat Store, for Mary Shafer at the tag office and 10 years for Max Jordan at Coast to Coast. She clerked for all of Bob’s farm sales and that was in the days when it was all done by hand. In later years Doris worked for her son Bobby in the sale barn office. Bob passed away in 1972 and a year or so later Doris opened Smith’s Western Wear and ran it many years until it closed in 2004. Doris loved to crochet and made many blankets for friends and loved ones. She also had a love of bowling and played on a league for years. Doris was an avid football fan watching many hours of Dallas Cowboy and OU Sooner ball.

Doris is survived by her sons Bobby and Sharie Smith, Buddy Smith and Linda Howerton all of Fairview, daughter Connie and ZB Lonigan of Kingfisher, OK, grandchildren Renee and Mike Eberhardt, and Carri Jo and Terry Pike and three great-grandchildren; Rachel and Blake Eberhardt and Kinsley Pike.

She was preceded in death by her husband and parents
