Fairview Cemetery


The funeral for Douglas Kent Colby, age 47 of Enid will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 12, 2005 in Willow View United Methodist Church of Enid. Rev. Thomas Corrigan will officiate. Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Fairview Cemetery of Fairview, Oklahoma. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 7 to 9:00 p.m. at the Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

He was born October 24, 1954 in Shreveport, LA to Vinton and Bonnie Kliewer Colby and died Friday, July 8, 2005 at his home in Enid.

At the age of five, he moved with his family to Fairview where he graduated from Fairview High School in 1975.

On October 12, 1985 Doug married Beth Manning in Enid. To this union was born their son Chad Colby in 1993. Doug worked in oilfield operations for a number of years. Later obtained an associated degree in electronics and technology. He was currently working for Bradford Electric.

Douglas was survived by a son Chad Colby, his fiance and closest companion Jenny White and her children Nikki and Dayna, Trystan, his mother Bonnie Williams and her husband K.V. all of Enid, a sister in law, Kathy Edingfield and her husband Butch of Fairview and their children Kraston and Katy, Karnesa and her husband Kurt, their son Kolton McGaha of Davis, OK and many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Vinton Colby, his brother Bradley and his maternal and paternal grandparents.

Memorials can be made to the Chad Colby Educational Fund through Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
