Linda Kay LIPPS

Biering Cemetery

Linda Kay Lipps, a beloved wife, dedicated teacher, and cherished member of the community, passed away on June 25, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and inspiration. Linda was born on September 26, 1943, in Hobart, Oklahoma, to Henry Weigandt and Clara (Bauer) Weigandt.

Linda's educational journey began at Gotebo High School, where she completed her high school education in 1961. She then pursued her passion for teaching, attending Southwestern State College, where she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education in 1965.

On June 11, 1966, Linda joined hands in marriage with Floyd Allen Lipps in Hobart, Oklahoma. They made their home in Okeene, Oklahoma and embarked on a journey filled with love, support, and shared adventures.

Linda's teaching career spanned an impressive 32 years, during which she touched the lives of countless students. She dedicated 29 years to Okeene Elementary School, where her commitment to education shone brightly. Her passion for teaching was unwavering, and she approached each day with enthusiasm, kindness, and a genuine love for her students. In 1990, Linda was honored as the Okeene Teacher of the Year, a testament to her exceptional dedication and impact on the lives of those she taught.

Outside of her professional life, Linda found joy in various hobbies. She was a talented pianist who delighted in playing the music on Sundays for the Okeene United Methodist Church. Gardening was another passion that allowed her to connect with nature and nurture the growth of the beautiful plants and flowers in her yard. Linda also took pleasure in baking delicious cookies and cakes with her grandchildren.

Linda will forever be remembered as a kind-hearted and dedicated individual who selflessly devoted her life to the betterment of others. Her warm smile, unwavering love, and commitment to education will continue to resonate within the hearts of her family, friends, students, and the community she served.

She is survived by her loving husband, Floyd Allen Lipps, Okeene; two sons: Brad Lipps of Shreveport, Louisiana; and Corey Lipps and his wife, Nichole, and their three children Kate, Collin, and Noah of Edmond, Oklahoma.

Linda's presence will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on, inspiring others to embrace the power of knowledge, kindness, and love.

As we bid farewell to Linda, let us celebrate her life and the lasting impact she made on the lives she touched. May her soul find eternal peace, and may her memory continue to inspire us to make a difference in the world, just as she did.Top of Form
