Services for Vernie Clayton Albert will be today (Friday) at 1:00 p.m. in the New Zion Baptist Church with Rev. O.C. Willis officiating.
Born July 31, 1914, at Ran, Mrs. Albert died April 7, 1991, in the Love County Health Center, Marietta. She was the daughter of Mary and Jim Clayton. A lifetime resident of Love County, Mrs. Albert was a member of the New Zion Baptist Church.
Survivors include three sons, James Albert and Raymond Albert of Ardmore and Andy Joe Albert of Chickasha; three daughters, Mary Allen of Lawton and Edna Albert and Vernie Mae Albert of Marietta; two stepsons, Judge Albert, Jr. of Fairfield, California, and Ira Albert of Washington, D.C.; 17 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Albert was preceded in death by her husband, Judge Albert, in October 1975; and a son, Charlie Albert, in January 1978.
Interment in the Ran Cemetery will be under the Kirk-Dawson-Dillard Funeral Home, Ardmore. Serving as casket bearers will be Arnel Halstied, Joe Hornbeak, Eugene Rambo, Don Johnson, Willie James McCarroll, Less McCarrell, Perry Halstied, and James Allen.
