There will be no services for Patty Ruth Oliver, 92. Cremation arrangements are by Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home.
Patty was born in Collinsville on January 10, 1926 to Jesse Samuel and Virgie Marguerite Husband Bunch and died Thursday May 10, 2018 at her home in Hennessey.
Patty graduated from high school in 1944 where she was Valedictorian of her class. She earned a bachelor's degree from East Central College in Ada and her master's Degree from Central State College in Edmond.
She married Weldon Oliver in Thomasville, Georgia on July 12, 1944.
Patty taught elementary and middle school in Hennessey from 1962 until she retired in 1985. She was honored as Teacher of The Year and was also inducted into the Hennessey High School Hall of Fame. Patty was a member of Life Long Learning in Enid.
She is survived by two sons Steve Oliver and wife Teresa of Hennessey, Tom Oliver and wife Nancy of Marshall; two grandchildren Shanda Suit and husband Darin of Ames, Cale Oliver of Hennessey; three greatgrandchildren Wyatt, Hazen and Tripp Suit; and special friend and caregiver Katha Shreder.
Patty was preceded in death by her husband Weldon, one brother and one sister. Memorial donations may be made in her name to the Hennessey Educational Foundation with the funeral home serving as custodian of the fund.
