Rachel Matheson
(June 18, 1923 - May 17, 2014)

Rachel Alma Jones Matheson was born June 18, 1923 in Thackerville, Oklahoma to David Brister and Fannie Prosser Jones and had lived in the Crescent area most of her life. She passed away May 17, 2014 in Guthrie, Oklahoma at the age of 90 years.

Rachel attended school at Excelsior, Crescent, and Big Four. She married Joel Alex Matheson on February 22, 1941 in Guthrie. They were married 71 years before his death on September 11, 2012. Rachel was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Crescent and a member of the Rebekah Lodge.

She is survived by two daughters, Connie Williams of Crescent and Lynda Price and husband Hunter of Kingfisher; five grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, May 20, 2014 graveside at Summit View Cemetery in Guthrie with Gene Owen officiating. Services are under the direction of Abernathy Aaron Funeral Home in Crescent.
