Oklahoma Cemeteries

Logan County, Oklahoma

Logan County, Oklahoma was named after Senator John A Logan of Illinois on August 5, 1890. Later, the town of Guthrie was Oklahoma's capital city from 1907-1910 when it was moved to Oklahoma City. With an estimated population of 26,563 in 1900 and reported records of 46,784 in 2017.

Oklahoma Cemeteries and its volunteers have photographed and documented over 40 cemeteries across Logan County. Many of these cemeteries are located on private land or they are not in plain view from the road. Some locations are located on "less than perfect" dirt roads, use caution when traveling to the locations. Always speak to land owners before entering private land.

Logan county is rich in American history and days of the Old West. I would encourage anyone visiting these locations to take the time to fully research the locations.

Since 1915, Summit View Cemetery and its operations are handled by the City of Guthrie. Information and policies can be found on the cities website.
