Paul George Speer

Paul George Speer was born May 30, 1940 in Duncan, Oklahoma to Harold and Lenna (Cowan) Speer. He passed away March 24, 2022 in Wellston at the age of 81.

Paul met Patricia Mincks in high school and later married in 1957. They raised 4 children together while traveling the country with the oil rigs. Paul was a hard worker having worked from the time he was just 14. He became a roughneck in the oilfield and later became a certified welder. He was a member of the Local 344 Plumbers and Pipefitters Union and owned and operated Speer Welding Service.

Paul enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and most of all, Jesus. He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior 52 years ago and shared a passion for his faith ever since. He became an ordained minister and shared with prison ministries where he loved the opportunity to lead the astray to faith.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Lenna (Cowan) Speer; children, Deborah Milam, Curtis Speer, Paula Mullendore; siblings, Betty Pearson, Geneva Coons, Harold Speer; granddaughter, Nicole Speer; and son-in-law, Jerry Mullendore. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Patricia Speer of the home; daughter, Karen Wiley and her husband Andy of Moore; (13) grandchildren, (22) great-grandchildren, (3) great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Linda Vickers of New Mexico, Joan Stanley of California, Janice Kincannon of Ada; beloved dog, Louie along with other family and friends.

A fellowship visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 2, 2022 at the funeral home with a procession to Rossville Cemetery for a graveside funeral at 11:00. Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
