Linda Gene (Wilbanks) Morrison

Linda Gene (Wilbanks) Morrison, passed away on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Linda was born on March 24, 1947, in Chandler, Oklahoma to Glen Marvin and Opal Othelia (Fenderson) Wilbanks, and older sister, Virginia. When Linda was 7 months old, her family moved to Jacktown, Oklahoma where her family ran a grocery store/Phillips 66 station. In December of 1960, the family, with the addition of little sister, Karlene, moved to Meeker, Oklahoma, right across from Meeker High School. Linda attended Meeker schools for grades 1-12, graduating from Meeker High School in 1965. That fall, Linda started classes at Central State University. That summer she worked for the Oklahoma Tax Commission where she continued to work every summer and half days through the school term. Linda attended Central State for 2 years before finishing her BS at Oklahoma State University, where she worked in the cafeteria mornings and weekends. She graduated from OSU (Oklahoma A&M) in 1970.

On June 12, 1980, Linda married James Robert Morrison in Chandler, Oklahoma. James preceded her in death in 2020.

Linda's first teaching job was in Copan, Oklahoma where she taught for 3 years. She later taught at Meeker High School for 7 years and then finished her teaching career in Caney Valley. In 1984, she and James moved to Ochelata, Oklahoma where she resided until 2022.

Linda was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, James Morrison; and her parents, Glen and Opal Wilbanks;

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Glenda Woolever and husband, Danny Woolever; and a son, Robbie Morrison and wife, Tracey Morrison; grandchildren, Jennifer and Daniel Woolever, Abby and Chase Carver, Kay Sanders, Kelly Sanders, Alex Morrison, and Bella Morrison; great-granddaughters, Paisley Trawick and Baby Carver; great-grandsons, Cooper Woolever, Carsin Woolever, Cowin Woolever, and Isaiah Sanders; sisters, Virginia and Charles Frazier, and Karlene and Rock Gregory; as well as a host of other family members and friends.
