Deborah LeeAnn (Speer) Milam was born May 22, 1958 in Oklahoma City to Paul and Patricia (Mincks) Speer. She passed away unexpectedly October 22, 2021 in Wellston at the age of 63.

Deb’s father, Paul, worked as a pipefitter and moved often so she experienced life in Colorado, California, New Mexico Texas and Oklahoma where she graduated with the Duncan High School Class of 1976. She would spend the rest of her life in Oklahoma close to her family while she built her career as an HR Specialist with Boardman Inc. in Oklahoma City.

Deb married Earl Roe in 1976 and they were blessed with a daughter together, Shaunda Renée. She later married Ted Milam, Sr. and together were blessed with a daughter, Lacey Bree. Additionally, she cherished her bonus children, Ted Milam, Jr. and Heather Sue Milam.

Deb loved spending time with her family, many of whom affectionately referred to her as Aunt Debbie. She had a heart of gold and big love for all her family and friends. Deb was a great storyteller down to the last detail. She sought the love of her Father, Jesus Christ and stood firm on her rock-solid faith. In the words of her son-in-law, her unofficial motto was “when in doubt, love it out.”

Deb was preceded in death by her brother, Curtis Lee Speer; sister, Paula Kay Mullendore; husband of over 20 years, Ted Milam, Sr.; and her little dog, Bernie. Survivors include her parents, Paul and Patricia Speer of Wellston; children, Shaunda Renée Sims and husband, Derek of Colorado; Lacey Bree Kyser of Moore; Ted Milam, Jr. of Virginia, Heather Milam of Duncan; sister, Karen Wiley and husband, Andy of Moore; (8) grandchildren, Ally, Wayde, Ethan, Sadie, Kaia, Tyler, Sereena, Dearrance; (1) great-grandson on the way, Gus; along with many other family and friends.

A funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at the Lehman Funeral Home Chapel with interment following in the Rossville Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
