Norma Jean Greer Head

head-n-j

February 23, 1938 - December 9, 2022

Norma Jean (Greer) Head, resident of Shawnee, Oklahoma peacefully passed away on Thursday, December 9, 2022 at the age of 84.

Norma was born to Richard and Erma Greer on February 23, 1938 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Norma was a loving wife and mother, always there in time of need to listen and speak the truth you needed to hear. She is known for her cooking and enjoyed preparing holiday meals to share with her family. She would always say "it's ready but it's probably not fit to eat". However, we knew better because she was a wonderful cook. Her grandchildren will always remember her noodles that she prepared in her famous noodle pot and her chicken noodle soup with a grilled cheese sandwich she would prepare when you were sick. She enjoyed many hobbies over the years such as fishing, collecting depression glass and watching OU sporting events, especially OU women's softball. Her family will miss her sense of humor that she carried with her until the very end. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Norma is preceded in death by her parents Richard and Erma Greer, sister Donna Sue Smith, husband Aonnie Gene Standlee, son Lonnie Joe Standlee and daughter-in-law Gena Standlee.

She is survived by her husband, Dwayne Head of 51 years; sister-in-law Lynne Collins of Shawnee; two children Mark Standlee of Prague, OK and Rodney Standlee and wife Lorri of Meeker, OK; stepchildren Aaron Head and wife Teresa of Meeker, OK, Sally Sligar of Meeker, OK, and Lisa Haney and husband Paul of Lee's Summit, MO; grandchildren Mark Standlee and wife Carrie of Prague, OK, Josh Standlee and wife Amber of Belle Plain, KS, Kendra Wenzel and husband Taylor of Meeker, OK, Kayla Seymour and husband Wes of Shawnee, OK, Jessica Haney of New York City, NY and Bryan Haney of Wichita, KS and 12 great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank Brookdale Senior Living for their loving care the past six months.

Family will receive those wishing to pay respects on Sunday, December 11, 2022 at 3:00 PM at Walker Funeral Service in Shawnee, Oklahoma.

A Graveside service to remember and celebrate Norma's life will be held Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Rossville Cemetery in Meeker, Oklahoma.
