Charliene Ziegler Kimery

harliene Kimery, 98, passed away on January 16, 2023. Charliene was born April 25, 1924 in Prague, Oklahoma to Charles and Ina (Long) Ziegler.

She married Edward Charles Kimery on March 15, 1946 and they made their home in Prague, Oklahoma. She graduated from Prague Schools in 1941 and then attended nursing school at the University of Oklahoma where she received her RN degree in 1944. She worked in Prague under Dr. John Rollins and Dr. Ned Burleson as well as the Prague Hospital for over 20 years. After she retired from the hospital she worked for the Lincoln County Health Department in Chandler, Oklahoma and then worked at Tinker Air force Base for over 12 years in the infirmary.

Charliene was a selfless person who would help anyone. She was a very giving person who would work all day and make many house calls at night. She was always eager to work a double shift to cover those who could not be there. She was the head nurse of the hospital and was the nurse for the Operating room, Emergency Room and the Delivery Room. She helped with the deliveries of many babies in the Prague and Paden area and she loved working as a nurse. In 1973, Charliene had the honor to serve as the "Nurse of the Day" at the Oklahoma State Capitol.

She also enjoyed bowling and traveling, but her biggest joy was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved them so much and always enjoyed their visits.

Charliene was preceded in death by Charles Ziegler (Father), Ina Ziegler (Mother); her husband, Edward Charles Kimery; her brothers, Jack and Jeral Ziegler; her sister June Marler and Nephew Charles Bohuslavicky.

Survivors include daughter Sara Jarvis and husband Sam of Fort Gibson, Oklahoma; Grandsons, Scott Jarvis and wife Tonya of Skiatook, Oklahoma and Matt Jarvis and wife Lindsey of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Two great-grandchildren; Kimery Jarvis and Carter Ray, as well as many family members and friends.

The Funeral Service honoring her life will begin at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at Parks Brothers Funeral Chaple, Prague Oklahoma with Reverand Sandra Shephard officiating. Interment will follow at Prague Cemetery , Prague, Oklahoma. Arrangements are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague, Oklahoma.
