John Henry Rossiter of Parkland, Oklahoma passed peacefully from this life on Monday, October 1, 2018.

Funeral services have been entrusted to the care of the Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Cushing and will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 4, 2018 at the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn in Parkland, OK with Brother Richard Wright and Brother Woody Hamm officiating. Burial will follow in the Parkland Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, Oklahoma. The family will be present to greet friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

John was born in McKinleyville, California on May 20, 1957 to parents Evert and Syble (Toles) Rossiter. He moved to Parkland as a freshman, later graduating from Agra High School with the Class of 1975. The same year John married the love of his life, Candace Crow, on May 3, 1975 at her mother's home in Cushing. To their union was born two sons, Justin and Jeremy.

Upon moving to Parkland, John went to work for Uncle Alva as a farmhand and then for Fred Herring on his farm. He worked for Swan Hose in Stillwater for 5 years, then for General Motors for over 30 years until retirement. After retiring he went to work with his brothers at Aqua Pleasures in Cushing for 6 years.

At age 16 John was baptized into the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn on December 27, 1973 by Brother Bill Herring. John loved to visit with the brethren and never passed up a chance to fellowship and eat with them. He was always concerned about those in need and often visited the sick and homebound. John was a big help to his sister Sherry Cagle, helping to raise her three children; Joy Dawn Cagle, April Cagle Nack, and Mathew Cagle. He loved watching the kids play ball and never missed a game.

John is survived by his wife Candace of the home; children, Justin Rossiter of Agra, OK, and Jeremy Rossiter of Cushing, OK; brothers, Allen and wife Floye of Cushing, OK, Evert and wife Jean Rossiter of Cushing, OK, Glenn and wife Melda Rossiter of Agra, OK, and Billy and wife Lounette Rossiter of Agra, OK; grandchildren, Tyler Rossiter, Paige Rossiter, Autumn Rossiter, Sabrina Rossiter, Miranda Rossiter, Elizabeth Rossiter, and Jonathan Rossiter; great grandson, Lucas Rossiter; and a host of extended family members and dear friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Al Jay Rossiter, Roy Gene Rossiter, Loren Elwood Rossiter; mother in law, Tennessee Crow; nieces, Sherry Gladden, and Tonya Rossiter ; nephews, Alex Cagle, Gary Rossiter, Thomas Rossiter, Brad Rossiter, and Derrick Rossiter.He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Al Jay Rossiter, Roy Gene Rossiter, Loren Elwood Rossiter; mother in law, Tennessee Crow; nieces, Sherry Gladden, and Tonya Rossiter ; nephews, Alex Cagle, Gary Rossiter, Thomas Rossiter, Brad Rossiter, and Derrick Rossiter.
