JOAN WINSWORTH
1938 - 2016


Joan Pennington Winsworth was born to Fred and Ellie Varner Pennington April 5, 1938 in Fordyce, Arkansas. She passed away April 4, 2016 in Shawnee at the age of 77.
Joan’s life was defined by her love for her family as first and foremost she was a wife, mother and grandmother.
She traveled the world with her husband while he was in the United States Navy.
Joan was her happiest when they retired and she spent her time camping with her grandchildren a month at a time.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Charlene LeGros and Jacqueline Britton.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Leon Winsworth of the home, sons, Robert Winsworth and his wife Dee of Little, Oklahoma, Jim Winsworth and his wife Jackie of Meeker and Bill Winsworth of the home, five grandchildren, Elizabeth, Shae, Jonathon, James and Joanna, ten great-grandchildren, Michael, Desiree, William, Eric, Erica, Shelby, Liam, Roselyn, Madalyn and Lilly, siblings, Brenda Pate, George Pennington, Wanda Fay Williams and Fred Pennington, along with many other family members and friends.
A graveside funeral will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 8, 2016 at the White Dove Cemetery in Sparks.
Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
