EDDIE CARL VANDENBURG SR.
1962 - 2015


Eddie Carl Vandenburg Sr., Sparks, Oklahoma, resident was born March 26, 1932, in Farris, Oklahoma, and departed this life on September 29, 2015, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, at the age of 83 years.
Eddie was the son of Albert and Maggie Houchin Vandenburg.
He married Jeannie Bonham, September 20, 1952, in Durant, Oklahoma.
Eddie served in the United States Army during the Korean and Vietnam wars.
He worked as a paint shop foreman for OU Medical Center for many years. Eddie enjoyed singing and play his guitar.
His parents, one grandson, one sister and four brothers preceded Eddie in death.
Survivors include his wife of sixty three years, Jeannie Vandenburg, one son, Eddie Carl Vandenburg Jr. of Wyoming, four daughters, Carla Brooks of Oklahoma City, Karron Combs of Tennessee, Vickie Mortensen of Michigan and Rebecca Barrington of Iowa, seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 2, 2015, at Faith Believers Church in Sparks, Oklahoma, with David Barrington and Eddie Vandenburg Jr. officiating.
Burial will follow at White Dove Cemetery in Sparks.
Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler, Oklahoma.
