WILMA LOUISE PENCE SHUTLER
1932 - 2013
Wilma Louise Loyd Pence Shutler, a longtime Stroud resident, passed away on Monday, February 4, 2013 in the Stroud Medical Center, Stroud, Oklahoma at the age of 80 years.The daughter of the late Harry Loyd and Vera Eveler Loyd, Wilma was born on November 25, 1932 in Milfay, Oklahoma.She was reared and educated in the Milfay and Depew areas, graduating from Milfay High School.Wilma was united in marriage to O. B. Pence, Jr. on December 9, 1949 in Depew, Oklahoma and to this union three children, Ricky, Renesa and Roger were born.She worked as a legal secretary for most of her life. She returned to Stroud in 1985 where she lived until her death.She was a longtime member of the Stroud Christian Church and in her spare time she enjoyed sewing and reading her Bible.Survivors include one son, Roger Pence of Arlington, Texas; three brothers, Ivan Loyd and Melvin Loyd of Oklahoma City; and Harold Loyd of Muskogee; two grandchildren, Nicki McFarlin of Tucson, Arizona; and Jeff McFarlin of Biloxi, Mississippi; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.In addition to her parents, Wilma was preceded in death by her husband O. B.; one son, Ricky Pence; one daughter, Ranesa McFarlin; and three sisters, Lucille Hollon, Helen Edwards and Virginia Jenkins.Funeral services have been entrusted to the Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Cushing and will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 8, 2013 in the Stroud Christian Church.Burial will follow in the Stroud Cemetery.
