LUCILLE DORENE PARKER
1914 - 2012
Lucille Dorene Hopewell Parker was born in Stroud, Oklahoma on December 2, 1914 and departed this life in Tulsa, Oklahoma on Monday, December 31, 2012 at the age of 98 years.Lucille was the daughter of Claude Cleveland and Clara Effie Aughenbaugh Hopewell.Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Parker in February 1966.She spent her early years in Stroud, graduating from Stroud High School.She moved to California in the late 1940s with her husband before returning to her family farm north of Stroud in the early 1950s. She was a resident of Yale, Oklahoma since 1962.Lucille was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved to spend time with her family.She was a homemaker and a member of the Yale First Baptist Church. For many years she worked in the Church Nursery and loved volunteering at the Yale Senior Citizen Center.Lucille was also preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Claude Willard Hopewell and Albert Eli Hopewell.Survivors include two sons, Albert Parker and James {Donetta} Parker of Yale, two daughters, Clara {Paul} Welch and Betty Parker of Yale, four grandchildren, Ginger Welch {Forrest Britton}, Johnny {Amanda} Welch, Seth Tash Parker and Arron Kimbel and two great grandchildren, Addy Welch-Britton and Konner Kimbel. She is also survived by her aunt, Donna Mae Anglin of Stroud and numerous nieces and nephews along with many other relatives and friends.Funeral service will be held Thursday, January 3, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Parks Brothers Chapel with Bro. Mich Dershem officiating.Burial will be in the Stroud Cemetery under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Stroud, Oklahoma.
