JAY H. BOLAND
1941 - 2015


Jay H. Boland was born is Stroud, Oklahoma on November 21, 1941 and departed this life at his home in Kimberling City, Missouri on November 1, 2015 at the age of 73 years.
Jay was the son of Marshall Durel "Jelly" and Bertha Marguerite Getman Boland.
He was a resident of Kimberling City, Missouri.
He attended Stroud High School and married Saundra Sue Shipley.
He worked in the oilfield and owned and operated NLS, Inc. starting the business in 1968 and ran the business for 47 years.
The couple lived in Southwest Kansas and the Panhandle of Oklahoma where they raised nine surviving children before retiring in the Ozarks. They owned and operated Joe Bald Markert in Kimberling City, Missouri for the past 12 years.
He loved the Oklahoma Sooners, Dallas Cowboys and his grandson's football team in Reeds Spring, Missouri and his beloved pets, especially Buddy.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Shirley Wolff and Betty Morgan and two brothers, Dale "Peachy" and Jim.
Survivors include his wife of the home, two sons and daughters in laws, Thomas and Brandy Thacker of Branson, Missouri, Cliff and Jo Boland of Darazette, Texas, seven daughters and sons in laws, Sally and Max Huling of Floris, Oklahoma, Ronda and Mark Schmitzer of Turpin, Oklahoma, Sharlyn Boland of St. Louis, Missouri, Mary and Kelly Gray of Floris, Oklahoma, Pamela Arteaga and Martin Ramos of Tobasco Villa Hermosa, Mexico, Christina Yearick and Rick of Kimberling City, Missouri, Mona Chavez of Kimberling City, Missouri, twenty nine grandchildren and twenty nine great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Graveside service will be held at the Kendrick Cemetery, Kendrick, Oklahoma on Friday, November 6, 2015 at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers donation may be made to Shriner Hospital, Transportation Fund, 601 St. Louis St. Springfield, Missouri 65806.
Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home.
