Cemetery Photo

LeFlore County, Oklahoma

The location is 2 miles east of Whitesboro off highway 63 (two miles east of the LeFlore County Water Supply building). Take a right on the first road to the South, it is paved but unmarked. Go up the hill almost 1/2 mile. If you get to the top and see a brick home on the right, back up a bit. The graves are on the right shoulder of the road, under trees.
NEW INFORMATION: From; Linda Terpstra. a friend who did genealogy research was able to search records and found out they were a woman and her daughter - in - law who died in the 20's, from the family of Cephas Jones.

The graves are unmarked but are outlined with stones and there have been iris planted on them. The iris have spread quite a bit so I think they have been there for quite a while. Someone apparently visits, at least once in a while, because strawbaskets of silk flowers are tied to a tree trunk at the head of one, and to an upright, unmarked stone on the other. The current batch of flowers are pretty faded, so have surely been there a while. If you have information on these burials please contact Linda and area coordinator.
