Graveside Services for Bill E. "Pop Bill" Woods, 83, of Connerville, Oklahoma will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 11:00 a. m. at the Wells Valley Cemetery in Bromide, Oklahoma with Mike Gross and Toby Wallace officiating.

The military honors will be provided by The Chickasaw Nation Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Friday evening at the funeral home.  Mr. Woods passed away on March 8, 2017 at the Blue River Health Care facility in Tishomingo, Oklahoma.

Bill was born on January 24, 1934 in Clarita, Oklahoma to George Dewey Woods and Beatrice Delana (Kerr) Woods.  He graduated from Clarita High School and married Mary Ann Staggs on April 6, 1963 in Ada, Oklahoma. Bill worked as a heavy equipment operator for Johnston County District #1 for several years and most all of his life was a rancher. Bill was also a founding member of the Connerville Volunteer Fire Department. He had been living at Blue River Health Care for a short time.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Ann on March 12, 2009; a sister, Floy Perryman and three brothers, W. D. Woods, Floyd Joe Woods and Melvin Woods.

He is survived by his son, Bruce Woods and his step-daughter, Harley of Connerville, Oklahoma; his daughter, Diane Niblett and husband Mike of Tishomingo; his grandson, Cole Niblett of Norman, Oklahoma; his granddaughter, Emilea Niblett of Tishomingo; his brother, Jerry Woods and wife Linda of Coalgate, Oklahoma; two sisters, Mathella Carroll Brantley of Searcy, Arkansas and Bernice Green of Pasadena, Texas; other relatives and friends.

Casket Bearers for the service will be: Cole Niblett, Roger Barrett, Josh Barrett, Jackie Davis, Toby Wallace and Gregg Staggs.  Honorary Bearers will be: Mann Gross, Joe Duncan, Jim Duncan, Bobby Stewart and Willie Bill Kirkpatrick.
