Clark's Funeral Service

Funeral Services for Rev. Charlie Carter, 77, of Connerville, Oklahoma will be held on Friday, February 26, 2010 at the Temple of God Church in Connerville with Brother Randy Wade officiating, assisted by Brother Tony Poe. Interment will follow in the Seeley-Blue Cemetery. A wake service will be held on Thursday evening from 7-9 pm, at the church.

Charles Davis “Charlie” Carter was born on March 23, 1932 in Mill Creek, Oklahoma to Watson and Frances Wisdon Carter. He attended school at Bellwood and Pontotoc and was married to Pearline Alexander. Charlie was a minister for many years and was very active in church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and bow making. In his younger days, he was an avid softball player. He passed away on Saturday, February 20, 2010 at his home in Connerville at the age of 77 years, 10 months and 27 days.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Pearline; and two sisters, Erie Cravatt and Wanda Wagon.

Charlie is survived by two daughters, Charlene Benson and Lorene Johnson; his son, David Fort; two sisters, Minnie Gipson and Vinola Brown; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Pallbearers for the service will be: Byars Baken, Daniel Columbus, Stanley Factor, Rick Robertson, Steve Robertson and Watson Wagon. Honorary Bearers will be: David Alexander, Allen Beck, J. C. Poe, Vernon Factor, Terry Wagon and Troy Arterberry.
