Clark Funeral Service

Funeral Services for Mrs. Bertie G. Leal will be held on Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Clark Funeral Chapel with Brother Bill Volk officiating, assisted by Brother Mac Essary. Interment will follow in the Lone Cedar Cemetery in Mannsville, Oklahoma. Mrs. Leal passed away on Monday, May 31st, in Chickasha, Oklahoma.

Bertie Guindolla Leal was born on January 18, 1922 in the Greasy Bend community, near Mannsville, Oklahoma to John & Catherine Pittman Gilliam. She attended Greasy Bend Schools and married Alva Isbell, afterward moving to California and working in a cannery. She later returned to Oklahoma and met and married Frank Leal. She worked mostly at babysitting as her main source of income. She had a passion for gardening and was a devout Chtistian, having attended different churches in her life. Mrs. Leal passed away on Monday, May 31st, 2010 in Chickasha, Oklahoma at the age of 88 years and 4 months.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Eugene & John Gilliam; her two husbands, Alva Isbell and Frank Leal and step-children, Frank Leal, Jr., Suzanne Herrera and Carmel Rushing.

Mrs. Leal is survived by two daughters, Retha Comes & her husband Mike of Ravia and Wyndolla Brantley & her husband Don of Alex, Oklahoma; two sons, Sam Isbell of Ravia and Al Leal & wife Linda of Bethany, Oklahoma; Step-children, Mary Frances Newman & husband Tom of Hobart, Oklahoma, Leon Leal of Binger, Oklahoma, Arthur Leal of Ketchikan, Alaska and Johnny Leal of Turlock, California; 32 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren and numerous great-great-grandchildren; Also, two sisters, Leolla Hennington and Virginia Bauer & husband David; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Pallbearers will be: Frank Brantley, Sammy Isbell, Trey Rushing, Zack McCormick, Arthur Herrera, Jr. and Bobby Brown.
