Emma Dean White was born November 15, 1931, in Ryan, Oklahoma to Arley Sylvester and Lois Elsie (West) Lively.

She finished her earthly journey on July 23, 2020, at her home in Duncan. She was 88 years old.

Come and go viewing will be Monday and Tuesday, July 27-28, from 8:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Whitt Funeral Home.

Graveside services are scheduled for Wednesday, July 29, at 10:00 A.M. at the Ryan Cemetery with Pastor Jerry Moore officiating.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Kouri White, Kevin White, Gavyn White, Jase White, and Jerry Don Moore.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home.

Emma Dean graduated from Ryan High School. She played on the basketball team while in high school and won a championship. She married Thomas Eugene White on August 5, 1948, in Ryan. To this union three sons – Tommy, David, and Alan – were born. She worked in the Ryan Hospital and Ryan Clinic for 58 years. She was the voice of Jefferson County because everyone who came there eventually got to know her sweet voice and kind demeanor. Emma Dean loved her family dearly and was always very close with her three sisters. She was a wonderful cook and always had food prepared for family and friends. Her specialty was her exquisite pies that were relished by all. She was a longtime member of the Ryan Baptist Church. She retired to Duncan to be with her sisters. While in Duncan, she became a member of the Harvest Hills Baptist Church. She was a strong Christian influence in the family and was an avid reader and writer of Christian literature.

Flowers were provided by The Flower Truck OKC, New Leaf Florist, and The Local Florist & Gift Shop in Ryan.

A special thank you is given to The Flower Truck OKC for everything being done for our family.

Emma Dean is survived by her sons: Tommy and wife Becky White of Edmond and Alan White of Duncan; grandchildren: Kouri White of San Francisco, California and Kevin and wife Keri White of Encintas, California; great grandchildren: Gavyn White and Jase White; step great grandchildren, Kelby & Mac Lepley; and sister Vera Lee Engle.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Thomas White; son: David White; and sisters: Mildred Scott and Lois Graves.
