Peggy Rena Bielich, age 78, of Mangum, passed away Saturday morning,
September 8, 2012, at her home in Mangum.
Mrs. Bielich was born in Russell, Oklahoma on February 5, 1934, to
Erbie Simmons and Rita Frances (Baird) Crabb. Beginning school at
Duke, she graduated from Centralvue School in 1952. After attending
Cameron Junior College and graduating from Oklahoma A & M, in
Stillwater, in 1956, she taught at Wellston, Altus, Lorain, Ohio,
Martha and Millwood, in Oklahoma City. In 1970, she completed her
Master’s Degree, at the University of Central Oklahoma, and spent
her last seventeen years as an educator / administrator in the
Oklahoma Vocational Technical System. After retiring on December 31,
1987, she moved back to Mangum in 1989 and was a regular contributor
to the Mangum Star with genealogy articles. Peggy also served as a
curator for the Greer County Museum. In her spare time, Peggy
enjoyed reading, traveling and doing genealogy. One of Peggy’s
proudest accomplishments, besides her family, was the fact that she
visited every state in the Union and Canada before her death.
Preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Joe Crabb.
She is
survived by three children, Jon Bielich and wife Steveanne of
Oklahoma City, Jim Bielich of Edmond and Melissa Bielich of Edmond;
three grandchildren, Dustin Bielich, Tray Jarman and Hannah Burke;
one great grandchild, Leighton Jarman; one sister, Jane Sparks and
husband Mike of Mangum; three brothers, Jim Crabb and wife Vinita of
Sayre, Johny Crabb and wife Terry of Mangum and Larry Crabb and wife
Donna of Hollis along with many nieces, nephews, cousins other
relatives and many friends.
Funeral services for Peggy Bielich will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday,
September 11, 2012, at the Mangum First United Methodist Church with
Rev. Marsha Purtell officiating. Interment will follow at the
Ladessa Cemetery under the direction of Greer Funeral Home of
Mangum.
