December 29, 1961 - January 13, 2022

Melinda Ann Fitts Lounsbury passed on January 13, 2022. Melinda was born to Don F. Fitts and Norma A. Shrubshall Fitts on December 29, 1961, in Enid, Oklahoma.

She graduated from Pond Creek Hunter High School in 1980 and then attended Oklahoma State University, majoring in Elementary Education. She received her Bachelor's Degree in 1985. She was employed at several schools in the area: ending her career at Hoover Elementary School in Enid, Oklahoma. While at Hoover Elementary, Melinda was voted Teacher of the Year in 2021-2022 by her teachers and staff.

In 1980, Melinda was united in marriage to Michael Lounsbury, and they were blessed with 3 children.

Melinda is survived by her mother, Norma Fitts, sister Lesa Flanagan (Kevin), brother, Greg Fitts (Michelle), Chris Hooley, son Tyler Lounsbury, daughter Whitney Betchan (Kyle), son Caleb Lounsbury, Christy Hooley, five grandchildren and three nieces and one nephew.

Melinda was preceded in death by her father Don Fitts, maternal grandparents and paternal grandparents.

Melinda was active in Oakwood Christian Church as hostess and prayer chain warrior.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Oakwood Christian Church Camp Scholarship Fund.

Services for Melinda will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 17, 2022, at Oakwood Christian Church, Enid, Oklahoma. Interment will follow at Pond Creek Cemetery. Arrangements are by Wilson Funeral Home, Pond Creek, Oklahoma.
