Medford-Funeral service for Norma Jean “Jeanne” Boyd will be Monday, November 27, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Medford. Burial will follow in Pond Creek Cemetery. At Jeanne’s family’s request, there will be no public viewing.

Jeanne was born to parents, Robert Lewis Kendall and Wilma Jo Hamman Kendall on March 11, 1933 in Guymon, Oklahoma and passed from this life in Caldwell, Kansas on November 20, 2017. She had lived in the Medford area since childhood and had graduated from Medford High School. She and Lynn Boyd were married in Medford on December 18, 1953. Jeanne was a legal secretary and had worked for attorneys for many years. Her grandchildren and their activities were a very important part of her life. She was a founding member of “Busy Moms” in Medford. Jeanne loved her horses which she raised for many years.

Jeanne is preceded in death by her husband, Lynn Boyd and her parents, Robert and Wilma Jo Kendall.

Those left to cherish her memory are her two children, Terri Townsend and husband, Steve of Kittanning, Pennsylvania and Traci Hancock and husband, Mike of Medford; seven grandchildren, Joe and Ileana Townsend, Kate Townsend and husband, Bill Wortmann, Dylan Hancock, Jordan Hancock, Zachary Hancock, Dusty and Erikah Hancock and Brandee Hancock; four great-grandchildren, Nathaniel and Gabriel Townsend and Tate and Oakley Hancock; one brother, Wayne Kendall and wife, Chris of Blaine, Minnesota; one sister, Louise Michaels of Tallahassee, Florida.
