Peggy B. and Donald D. INGMIRE

Lamont Cemetery

Peggy Booth McConnell Ingmire, daughter, wife and loving mother passed from this life on Friday, June 24, 2016 at her home.

Peggy was the daughter of Donald and Mildred McConnell of Lamont and the wife of Don Ingmire for 58 years until his passing in 2008. She was a loving, wonderful mother of 5 children, Shirley Williams of Newcastle, OK, Gary Ingmire of Ponca City, OK, Susan Blackburn of Yukon, OK, Terry Ingmire of Edmond, OK, and Sheila Britton of Tonkawa, OK.

A longtime resident of Tonkawa, Peggy enjoyed visiting with her family and friends. Many memories were made on a well-known front porch swing. Not many people passed by the Ingmire residence without a friendly wave from Don and Peggy.

As a mother of 5, she was an assistant Bluebird leader and a Cub Scout Den Mother. Peggy enjoyed watching her children's and grandchildren's sporting events. She never missed a game. She was always very proud of both their sporting and academic accomplishments.

She enjoyed and took pride in watching her family of 5 children grow to include 9 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

After raising her family, she worked for Anthony's, excelled as a sales associate, and became associate of the year. Peggy enjoyed visiting with and helping her customers with their needs. Her caring heart extended to her neighbors as well. She would visit with them just to make sure they were doing okay and offered help at times of need.

Peggy's mother Mildred was a charter member of the Lamont Rainbow Chapter where Peggy became the first daughter to be a pledge.

Peggy was preceded in death by her father and mother, her brother Gene, and her husband.

She leaves behind 5 children and their spouses to carry on her memory: Shirley Williams, Gary & Gail Ingmire, Susan Blackburn, Terry & Marilyn Ingmire, and Sheila & David Britton, her 9 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Peggy will be available for viewing at Anderson Funeral Home in Tonkawa on Sunday, June 26, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Monday, June 27, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
