Doris Addie Townsend

Doris Addie Townsend, 61, of Rush Springs died Wednesday, November 19, 2003 in Oklahoma City.

Funeral services were held Monday, November 24 at 2 p.m. in the Church of Christ in Rush brings with Cliff Werhan officiating.

Burial was in Westview Cemetery at Rush Springs.

Mrs. Townsend was born March 29, 1942 in Comanche, Oklahoma, the daughter of Oliver Sims and Vivian [Whaley] Sims.

She and Billy F. Townsend were married August 8, 1960 and Marlow Oklahoma.

She was raised in Marlow and was a 1960 graduate of Marlow high school. She enjoyed cooking, crafts and her family. She had been an employee of McDonald's. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Donald James Townsend; two daughters, Linda Charlene and Theresa Louise Townsend, and one brother, Donald Sims.

Survivors include her husband, Billy F. Townsend of the home; son Michael Townsend and wife Cheryl of Buff, Missouri; sister Linda Sims of Rush Springs; three nieces, Lena Earnest, Jena Kodesh, and Dena Berkey; two sisters-in-law, Helen Sims and Charlene Caveny and her husband Fred and a brother-in- law, James Townsend and his wife Jan; and five grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Ted Moody, Don hall, Harold Jackson, Mickey Hoy, Gary Cloud, and Wayne Lowry.
