Justin Ross Barney

JUSTIN ROSS BARNEY, 14, of Rush Springs, passed away Friday, Nov. 2, 2007, in Oklahoma City.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, at the Rush Springs High School gym, with Richy Large and Ron and Dana Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Westview Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel in Rush Springs.

Justin was born Tuesday, Dec. 29, 1992, in Pasadena, Calif., to Marinda Sue Barney. His mom preceded him in death on Sept. 3, 2004.

Justin had lived in California before moving to Rush Springs four years ago. He was a freshman at Rush Springs High School and helped his uncle work on their land. He was active in TSA, basketball, football, baseball and golf. He enjoyed all sports and was proud to be a Rush Springs Redskin. He was an avid OU Sooner fan. Justin always had a smile on his face and enjoyed being around his family and friends.

He was a member of the Southern Baptist Church in Rush Springs.

Survivors include his guardians, Jim Nottingham and wife Heather of Rush Springs; a brother, Jim Nottingham of the home; a sister, Shelby Nottingham of the home; grandparents, Norma Barney of Hesperia, Calif., Vivian Nottingham of Marlow, and Archie Williams of Rush Springs; uncles and aunts, Edward Mangerino and wife Wendy, Tony Mangerino and wife Linda, Dennis Mangerino and wife Terry, Trina Mangerino, Kevin Barney and wife Carissa, and Robert Nottingham; many cousins, friends and teammates.

He was preceded in death by his mother; his grandfather, Lavar H. Barney; and grandmothers, Karen Barney and Betty Williams.
