September 11, 1877 ~ November 23, 1959


FUNERAL SERVICES FOR CHARLEY DOWNS HELD

Funeral services for Charley Downs of Verden, 83 years old, were held at the First Baptist Church at Verden on Wednesday, November 25, at 2 p.m. Burial was in Verden Cemetery under the direction of the Hansen Funeral Home.

Rev. Jim Robertson officiated. Music was furnished by Mrs. Don Lair and Mrs. Jim Robertson.

Casket bearers were Don Brown, Lee Fowler, Paul DeBoard, Harry Dodson and Cliff Morgan.

Mr. Downs was born in San Saba, Texas, September 11, 1877 and passed away in the Veterans Hospital in Oklahoma City, November 23, 1959.

He came to the Verden community in 1915. He was a veteran of World War I.

Survivors are two nieces, Miss June Downs and Mrs. Zula Pryer and one nephew, Edgar Downs, all of Oklahoma City.
