Dessie Myrel [Seymour] Manning

Funeral for Dessie Myrel Manning, 63, 627 North Ninth Street, will be 2 pm Thursday, Sept. 23, 1982, in Brown-Binyon Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Stephen Ussery will officiate.

Mrs. Manning was born March 16, 1919, at Rush Springs. She died Monday, Sept. 20, 1982, in Weatherford, Texas. She became ill Saturday while visiting relatives in Texas.

Mrs. Manning was married to Eldon Manning on Feb. 20, 1956, in Wichita Falls, Texas. She was a member of the Rush Springs Church of Christ.

Mrs. Manning came to Chickasha in the early 1940s from Rush Springs.

Mrs. Manning was preceded in death by her father, one brother, one sister and one daughter, Debbie.

Survivors include her husband, Eldon, of the home; her mother, Zena Sperling, of Chickasha; two sons, Jerry Don Manning of Chickasha, and Joe Danny Turney of Represa, Calif.; two daughters, Betty Ogle and Joyce Newberry, both of Weatherford, Texas; two brothers, Herbert Sperling of Chickasha, and Everett Sperling of Oroville, Calif.; one step-brother, Alvin Sperling, of Bly, Ore.; seven grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

Interment will be in the Rush Springs Cemetery under the direction of Brown-Binyon Funeral Home.

Eldon Lawrence Manning

July 13, 2005 at 1:30 p.m. at Hodge Funeral Home in Fletcher, Oklahoma with Reverend Rick Forthman.

Burial will be in the Rush Springs Cemetery, Rush Springs, OK under direction of Hodge Funeral Home of Elgin and Fletcher. Eldon Lawrence Manning, 80 years old, was born February 4, 1925, and left this earth July 11, 2005 to be with his Lord.

Eldon was retired from Oklahoma Refinery in Cyril, Oklahoma after 30 years of faithful service. Eldon was born and raised in Oklahoma, he moved to Texas in his later years to be with his family. He will go home to Oklahoma to be laid to rest.

He is survived by a son Jerry Don Manning of Weatherford, TX, 3 step children Joyce Turney, Betty Ogle of Weatherford, Tx, Joe Turney of California, 7 grandchildren, 2 sisters, Ramona Lemons and husband Bennie of Irving, Tx, Evelyn Bender of Knoxville, Tennessee, 2 brothers, Earl Manning and wife Alice of Alex, Oklahoma, Pete Manning and wife Lottie of Cyril, Oklahoma and numerous nieces and nephews.
