Jack "Gramps" Berry

Funeral services for Jack "Gramps" Berry, 77, a long time farmer and friend of the Agawam/Kechi area, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 10, 2006, in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel, with Bob Craddock officiating.

Jack Berry was born August 10, 1928, in Agawam, Oklahoma, the son of Willie and Rosie [Tindel] Berry. He passed away, July 6, 2006, at his home in Ninnekah.

Jack married the love of his life, his wife of 61 years, Pauline Williams, on April 2, 1945, in Rush Springs, Oklahoma.

Jack farmed and raised cattle for 61 of his 77 years on this earth.

He enjoyed helping friends and family. One act of kindness was demonstrated when he donated land for the Farwell Fire Department. Entertaining his family and friends with fish cookouts and holiday gatherings at the Passing Wind Lake was a highlight of his life. He also got great satisfaction by restoring land and memorable structures such as the cobble stone house to their natural beauty.

His laughter and kindness will be missed by many.

He was preceded in death by both parents, two brothers: A. V. and Cecil Berry; three sisters: Dorothy Lambrecht, Faye Robbins, and Jody Britton; and one grandson, Barry (Monk) Wenzel.

Jack is survived by his wife Pauline, of the home; two daughters and son-in-law: Maretta Rogers, of Chickasha and Patsy and Donald Gregory, of Ninnekah; son and daughter-in-law: Jimmy and Deborah Berry, of Ninnekah; brother and sister-in-law: Harvey and Betty, of Ninnekah; two sisters: Vera Collins, of Chickasha and Margaret Jervis, of Moore; sister-in-law: Toresa Foster and husband, Allen, of Allen, Texas; seven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; and a host of other relatives and friends.
