© The Chickasha Daily Express Chickasha, Oklahoma Monday, February 17, 1997 Bennie Dearmon Graveside service for Bennie Dearmon, 74, of Wichita Falls, Texas, will be held at 1 pm, Monday, Feb. 17, 1997, in the Rose Hill Cemetery, with Al Thom officiating. Bennie Dearmon was born July 14, 1922, in Chickasha, the son of C. A. and Ethel J. (Harris) Dearmon, and died Feb. 14, 1997, in Wichita Falls, Texas. On Oct. 12, 1942, he married Mary Francis Ross, in Gainesville, Texas. Bennie attended schools in Chickasha. He later moved to Wichita Falls, Texas, in 1957. Bennie worked as an auto body repairman. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion. He was a member of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his wife, Francis, of the home; two daughters, Susan I. Bellamy, of Mesquite, Texas and Bennie L. Ross, of Plainview, Texas; three sisters, Opal Andrews, of Kingston, Juanita Dickson, of Oklahoma City, and Lawana O'Brien of Silver Springs, Maryland; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Services are under the direction of Brown-Binyon Funeral Home. |

Dearmon, 53, former Chickasha mayor, who succumbed to a heart attack at his home Tuesday noon, will be conducted in the chapel of the Brown Funeral Home here Thursday morning at 10 o'clock. The rites will be conducted by Rev. H. P. Haley and interment will occur in the Rose Hill Cemetery here. Mr. Dearmon taught rural schools in the county for a number of years and was elected state senator from Grady County in 1919. He had served as assistant county attorney, was mayor of Chickasha for four terms and recently returned to Chickasha to make an unsuccessful race for mayor this spring after being employed as an attorney in the State School Land Department. He recently opened law offices here |

DEARMON DIES AT AGE 72 Funeral Set Today for Father of Mayor Last rites for James Thomas Dearmon, 72, father of Mayor C. A. Dearmon, were to be conducted from the chapel of the Chickasha Funeral Home here Wednesday afternoon at 5 o'clock by Rev. H. P. Haley. Burial will occur in Rose Hill Cemetery here. Mr. Dearmon succumbed at a hospital in Norman Tuesday afternoon after being stricken with apoplexy a few days ago. A native of Kentucky, Mr. Dearmon had made his home in and near Chickasha for some time. He leaves his widow, Mrs. Margaret Dearmon, Chickasha; three daughters, Mrs. Pearl Isbell, Bethel Springs, Tenn., Mrs. Bertha Harris, Tabler, and Mrs. Willie DeArmond, Chickasha, and three sons, Mayor C. A. Dearmon and Guy Dearmon, both of Chickasha, and T. A. Dearmon of Montgomery, Ala. Municipal board members and department heads were to act as pallbearers at the rites today. They are M. E. Humphrey, W. P. Sullivan, Bill Thompson, B. B. McBurnett, Frank Dews and Ben Goff. |

(as in paper) Dearmon, 86, who died at 12:20 am today in a local hospital. Mrs. Dearmon moved to Chickasha from Kentucky in 1922. Her home was at 1116 South 19th. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Bertha Harris of Chickasha, Mrs. Ueal Isabel of Bethel Springs, Tenn., and Mrs. Willie Looney of Oakland, Calif; two sons, Guy Dearmon of Richmond, Calif., and T. A. Dearmon of Chickasha. Also three half-brothers and two half-sisters, 19 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. Services will be under the direction of the Chickasha Funeral Home. |

Funeral services for Margaret Ethel Dearmon, aged 3, daughter of Mayor and Mrs. C. A. Dearmon, who died at the family home here Sunday afternoon at about 3:45 o'clock, were to be held at the First Baptist Church this afternoon at 3 o'clock, Rev. J. W. Bruner officiating. Interment will occur in the Rose Hill Cemetery. The child had been ill only since late Friday and death was believed due to poisoning from flue or indigestion, attending physicians said. City offices were to be closed this afternoon for the services and the groups of active and honorary pall bearers were to be composed of officials and employees. Bill Reynolds and Henry White, who are connected with the engineer's office; Hobart Walker, employee in the water department offices; Lawrence Murphy, who is connected with the street departments; and Luther Suddorth, member of the fire department. City officials, councilmen and other members of the official family are to act as honorary pall bearers. The child was born here December 14, 1924. She is survived by her parents, three sisters, Genevieve, Opal and Juanita; and two brothers, C. A. Jr. and Bennie. Chickasha, Oklahoma February 2, 1928. DEATH TAKES BABY GIRL FROM MAYOR'S HOME Margaret Ethel, the three-year-old daughter of Mayor and Mrs. C. A. Dearmon, died at the family home here Sunday afternoon and funeral services were held at the First Baptist Church. Little Margaret Ethel had only been ill since Friday, and death was believed to be due to internal flue. She is survived by her parents, three sisters, Genevieve, Opal and Juanita, and two brothers, C. A., Jr., and Bennie. Pall bearers at the funeral were Bill Reynolds and Henry White of the Engineer's office; Hobart Walker, of the Water department; Lawrence Murphy, of the Street department, and Luther Siddons of the Fire department. |

Dearmon, 1602 South 13th, died in a local hospital at 11:45 am Thursday, after a brief illness. Funeral services are set for 2:30 pm Sunday in Brown Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Poe Williams will officiate. Born January 18, 1882, in Kelley Station, Ky., Mr. Dearmon had been a Chickasha resident for 10 years. He previously lived in Montgomery, Ala. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Montgomery and the Epworth Methodist Church in Chickasha. The retired insurance business man is survived by his wife, Rose, and one son, Thomas A. Jr., of the home; one daughter, Mrs. Margaret Frances Reeves, Bethany; and three sisters; Mrs. Bertha Harris, Chickasha, Mrs. Willie Looney, Oakland, Calif., and Mrs. Pearl Isbell, Bethel Springs, Tenn.; one brother, Guy Dearmon, Richman, Calif., and two grandchildren. Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery under direction of Brown Funeral Home. |
© The Chickasha Daily Express Wednesday, December 23, 1981 Rose [Giardina] Dearmon Funeral for Mrs. Rose Dearmon, 84, 1602 South 13th, will be at 10:30 am Thursday, Dec. 24, 1981, in Brown-Binyon Funeral Chapel with Rev. Robert Majors officiating. Mrs. Dearmon was born April 17, 1897, in Greenville, Miss., the daughter of Frank and Frances [Chambliss] Giardina. She died Tuesday, Dec. 22, 1981, in Grady Memorial Hospital. She married Thomas A. Dearmon on Feb. 23, 1929, in Greenville, Miss. Mrs. Dearmon was a secretary for Pool Insurance Company for several years. She was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church, Order of Amaranth, United Methodist Women, Marion Chapter of Order of Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by both parents, nine brothers and four sisters. Her husband preceded her in death on May 31, 1957. Survivors include one son, T. Al Dearmon of Oklahoma City; one daughter, Margaret Frances Reeves of Bethany; five grandchildren; and one great grandchild. The casket will remain closed. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery under direction of Brown-Binyon Funeral Home. |
