Johnie Jim Jordan

Rush Springs: Johnie Jim Jordan, 77, passed away Saturday, June 14, 2014 at his home in Rush Springs.

Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, June 19, 2014, at the Vimy Ridge Baptist Church, with J.V. Labough and David Hale officiating.

Burial will be in the Jordan Family Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel in Rush Springs.

Johnie was born Monday, July 20, 1936 in Cox City, to Homer Clyde and Tommie Emily [Burns] Jordan.

Johnie lived in the Rush Springs area all of his life and attended Pleasant View, Cox City, and Sandy Grove Schools.

On October 28, 1956, he married Carrol J. Tilley in Ada.

Johnie worked as a truck driver, retiring from Ham/Phillips after many years of service. He also worked cattle and raised a garden. Johnie enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking, and going to estate sales and antique shopping. He loved spending time with his family, going to the lake and hosting cook-outs.

Johnie was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of Vimy Ridge Baptist Church in Rush Springs.

Johnie was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter, Kristin Newton, grandparents, Mama and Papa Burns, two uncles, Glenn and Burnes Burns, aunt, Betty James.

Pallbearers will be Johnie C. Jordan, Loyd Dale Newton, Loyd Dale Newton, II, Thomas James, Curtis Reese, Glen Wayne Mullins, Logan Light, Gary Manning. Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Jordan, Chyenne Reese, Bryant Light, Kaytlyn Beaver, Jacob Jordan, Trey Newton, Yancy Newton, Cole Newton.
