Elizabeth [Rivas] Meigs Walton
July 7, 1916 ~ December 23, 2010


Funeral Mass for Elizabeth Rivas Walton, 94, of Chickasha will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at the Holy Name Catholic Church. Rosary will be held at 7 p.m., Monday, December 27, 2010 in the Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home.

Elizabeth Rivas Walton was born July 7, 1916 in San Antonio, Texas, the daughter of John R. and Patricia [Roach] Rivas. She died December 23, 2010 at her home in Chickasha.

During the depression, she worked at WPA in the Grady County Court House. She worked at Hart Manufacturing in Chickasha during World War II. Elizabeth later attended beauty school and was a hairdresser for 36 years. After her retirement, she returned to school and worked as a certified nurses aid for many years. Elizabeth was a member of the Holy Name Catholic and a member of the Catholic Daughters. She was also a Cub Scout den mother.

She was preceded in death by: her Parents, Husband: W.E. Walton in 1985, a daughter: Carrie Ann Walton, three brothers: Mike, Sid and Crosz Rivas and a sister: Benita Lagrange.

Survivors include two sons: Michael R. Meigs and wife Sharon of Alex, Harold E. Walton, three sisters: Charlottee Morris of Chickasha, Thomasita Rivas of Chickasha, Mary P. Plata of Lawton, a brother: Louis Rivas and wife Sylvia of Lawton,, eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Interment will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Holy Name Section, under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.

The family requests only immediate family visit at their home.

June 14, 1974 ~ November 1, 2002


Mass of Angels for Carrie Ann Walton, 28, of Chickasha, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 4, 2002, at Holy Name Catholic Church. Wake service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 3, in the Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home.

Carrie Ann Walton was born June 14, 1974, in Lawton, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of W. E. Walton and Elizabeth Rivas Walton. She died Friday, November 1, 2002, in Oklahoma City.

Ms. Walton was a lifelong resident of Chickasha.

She was preceded in death by her father, W. E. Walton.

Survivors include: her mother, Elizabeth Walton, of Chickasha; two brothers: Michael R. Meigs and his wife Sharon, of Alex, Harold Walton and his wife Kathie, of Amber, uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews.

Interment will be in the Holy Name Section of Rose Hill Cemetery, under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Cerebral Palsy Foundation.
