© Chickasha Daily Express Chickasha, Oklahoma Wednesday October 9, 1963 August 20, 1882 ~ October 8, 1963 Roy William Montgomery, 81, 316 South Sixth, died at 2:30 pm Tuesday at his hone. He was born August 30, 1882, in Missouri and loved to Indian Territory in 1899 and settled near Marshall. Montgomery moved to Chickasha in 1901 and in 1906 married Miss Della Marie Marcotte The couple farmed north of the city moving to Chickasha where he owned and operated a grocery store for 10 years. They celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary in May of this year. Montgomery, who retired 15 years ago, had been in failing health for three years and an invalid for 18 months. He was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church Survivors include his wife, Della, of the home address: one son, Paul Montgomery, Bellflower, Calif: two daughters, Mrs Lora Hankins, Albuquerque, NM, and Mrs Hazel Banks, Chickasha: one half-sister, Mrs Lou parker, Ocelola, MO: three half-brothers, Claude Mitchell, Calhoun, MO: Frank Mitxhell, Live Oak, Calif, and Floyd Mitchell of Glendale, Ariz: 15 grandchildren, and 32 great-grandchildren. Rosary will be said at 8 tonight in the chapel of Sevier's Funeral Home. The body will lie in state in the Chapel until 9:30 AM Thursday and the casket will not be opened at the Mass. Reqieum High Mass will be sung at 10 AM Thursday in Holy Name Catholic Church by the Rev A. O. Murphy, pastor. Interment will be in Holy Name Section of Rose Hill Cemetery. |
