Edgar A. "Jim" Caldwell
September 1, 1911 ~ February4, 1984


Funeral service for Edgar A. "Jim" Caldwell, 72, Tuttle, were held Monday, 2/6/1984, in the First Baptist church, Amber, with Rev Millie Brackin officiating.

He was born 9/1/1911 in Meeker, OK, and passed away 2/4/1984 in Grady Memorial hospital, Chickasha.

He and Elizabeth Faulconer were married 12/18/1935 in Chickasha.

Mr Caldwell was raised in Meeker and came to Grady county in 1933.

He farmed between Amber and Tuttle for 40 years. He was a member of the First Baptist church, Amber, and a member of the Tuttle Rodeo Club.

He was preceded in death by 1 daughter, Bettie Bearden.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth, 3 daughters, Ruth Ann Grappe of Chandler, OK, Iva Jean Rinker of Oklahoma City, & Melba Jo Bowling of Tuttle, 3 sons, Paul Allen Caldwell of Blanchard, Stephen James Caldwell of Tuttle, & John Richard Caldwell of Pocasset, 21 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, 4 sisters, Mrs Ethel Spencer of Kansas City, MO, Mrs Mary Johnson of Kansas City, MO, Mrs Betty Price of Eufala, OK, & Mrs Pat Johnson of Eufala, 1 step-brother, James Farrel of Oklahoma City, and 1 step-sister, Dorthey Adier of Oklahoma City.

Interment was in Fairview cemetery, Tuttle, under direction of Sevier funeral home, Tuttle.

Elizabeth Mertis[ Faulconer] Caldwell
December 8, 1917 ~ June 14, 2012


Elizabeth Mertis Caldwell, 94, departed this life June 14, 2012 at her home in Tuttle.

She was born December 8, 1917 to William Edward & Dora Maud [Winters] Faulconer.

Elizabeth married Edgar A. "Jim" Caldwell on December 18, 1935 in Chickasha. Together, they farmed and ranched on their land south of Tuttle, and raised 7 children. Upon his death in 1984, she continued to farm and ranch on the land she has lived since she was 2 years old.

She was a member of the First Baptist church of Amber, and was active in the Grady County Extension Homemakers Council, Friendly Mound Extension Homemakers Club.

She had children in the Tuttle school system for a continuous 35 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, daughter, Bettie Bearden, parents, and 4 brothers.

She is survived by her children: Iva Jean Rinker of Tryon, OK, Ruth Ann Grappe Carter of Choctaw, OK, Paul Allen & Carole Caldwell, Melba Jo & Cratis Bowling, and John & Laurie Caldwell, all of Tuttle, OK, 21 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, and 10 great great grandchildren.

A funeral service was held at 11am Saturday, June 16, 2012, at the First Baptist church of Amber. Interment was in Fairview cemetery, Tuttle, under direction of Sevier funeral home.
