Dan Morse Virgin
January 8, 1913 ~ November 8, 1964


Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon in the chapel of Sevier's Funeral Home for Dan W. Virgin, 51, Alex. Rev. Charles Wallace, pastor of Alex Methodist Church, officiated.

Virgin died about 7 pm Sunday at his home following a sudden heart attack.

Music was furnished by a choir composed of B. M. McElroy, Mr and Mrs. Charles Addy, Frank Hess, Mrs. Harley Lawson, Miss Wanda Lawson, Miss Rhonda Lawson, Miss Willie Mae Shaw, Miss Flora Fay Armstrong and Miss Carol Cook accompanied by Mrs. Frieda Young at the organ.

Pallbearers were R. E. Frederick Jr., Bowman Lentz, Tim Goodwyn, Earl Hunt, Sidney Cook and Alvin Brown.

Interment was in Fairlawn Cemetery.

Mary Evelyn [Houck] Virgin
June 23, 1912 ~ November 24, 1991


Graveside funeral for Mary Evelyn Virgin, 79, Chickasha, will be held at 9 am Wednesday, Nov. 27, 1991, at Fairlawn cemetery with Rev. Boyd Ash, First Presbyterian Church, officiating.

She was born June 23, 1912, and died Nov. 24, 1991, at her home in Chickasha.

She was married to Dan M. Virgin.

They moved to Chickasha in 1945. Mary was one of the original founders of Virgin Lumber company. She was actively involved in the company until retiring in 1967 from ill health.

Mrs. Virgin was a member of the Presbyterian Church. She was also a member of Omega Study Club, the City Federation of Women's Club, and the American Association of Retired Persons.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, George Houck; and her husband, Dan Virgin, in 1964.

Survivors include two sons, Gregory Virgin of West Point, Ken., and Douglas Virgin of Colorado Springs, Colo.; one brother, Phil Houck of Vero Beach, Fla.; one granddaughter, Danette Prather of Oklahoma City; two nieces, Ann Dungan of Chickasha and Zarah Virgin of Chickasha.

Services are under the direction of Brown-Binyon Funeral Home.
