Wanda Elaine [Dear] Smart
February 7, 1928 ~ December 23, 2005


Wanda Elaine Smart died on Friday, December 23, 2005 in Shanoan Springs Residence Center in Chickasha at the age of 77. Wanda Elaine Dear was born on February 7, 1928 in Comanche, OK, to Robert and Bertha Dear. She grew up in Comanche. She worked for Haggar Slacks for over 25 years in Both Temple and Duncan. Elaine lived in Lawton and Comanche and then in Chickasha since 2001. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Comanche.

Elaine Dear married Bobby Gene Smart, on October 16, 1947 in Wichita Falls, TX.

Bob Preceded Elaine in death on November 26, 2001, after 54 years of marriage.

Elaine is survived by: 2 sons, Rick Smart and his wife, Alice of Houston, TX; Kendell Smart and his wife, Sharon of Bray. OK: 2 daughters: Kathy Stuart and her husband, Hugh of Newkirk, OK; Carol Kuhlman and her husband, Bob of Chickasha, OK: 8 grandchildren: Tammy, Heather and Micki Smart of Houston, TX; Karey Stuart Henderson and her husband, Spike of Blackwell, OK; Nic Stuart of Edmond, OK; Kendrick McDaniel and his wife, Heather of Comanche; Robin McDaniel Bostic and her husband, Darrell of Chickasha, OK; Gretchen Kuhlman also of Chickasha: 8 great grandchildren: Paige and Hope Henderson; Harley, Lane and Eric McDaniel; Blake, Aaron and Trevor Grisby.

She is also survived by: 1 brother, Gene Dear and his wife Lola Mae of Green Briar, Ark; 3 brothers-in-law, G. L. Smart of Duncan; Kenneth Smart and his wife, Charlene also of Duncan; Wendell Smart and his wife, Billie of Amarillo, TX.

Elaine was preceded in death by: her parents and her husband, Bob in 2001.

Elaine will be missed by those who knew her joy, laughter, humor and the beautiful smile that she gave to all.

Funeral Services will be Tuesday, December 27 at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Comanche with Rev. Timothy Ball officating. Burial will follow in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Comanche.

Visitation will be Monday 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. with family receiving visitors from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Memorials may be made to Hospice Lifeline of Chickasha, OK.
