Alice E. [Reed] Seebeck
February 9, 1931 ~ September 29, 2009


Funeral service for Alice E. Seebeck, age 78 of Verden will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2009, in the First Lutheran Church, Chickasha. Rev. David Thompson will officiate.

Alice was born the daughter of Luther F. Reed and Gertrude Johnson Reed on February 9, 1931, in Amber, Oklahoma. She died on September 29, 2009, in Chickasha.

Alice married Leon W. Seebeck on December 5, 1948 and began their life together in Yukon, Oklahoma as farmers. In December of 1951, she and Leon bought their first farm in Verden where they continued to live.

Alice had been a member of the First Lutheran Church in Chickasha since 1952 serving as a Sunday School teacher and trustee. She was actively involved in church fund raisers serving lunches for farm sales and Festival of Light dinners.

She served as secretary-treasurer for the Meridian School Alumni where she attended as a child.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Gertrude Reed, her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charley and Bertha Seebeck, and son-in-law, Cecil E. Hill.

Survivors include: Husband: Leon W. Seebeck of Verden, Daughter: Donna Hill of Newalla, Son and Daughter-in-law: Gary and Karen Seebeck of Chickasha, Brother: Roy Reed of Verden, Six Grandchildren, Nine Great Grandchildren, Six Great Great Grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of McRay Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Lutheran Church, 828 Minnesota, Chickasha, OK 73018, c/o Home-Bound Worship Video Program.
