Mareita Jo [Peters] Reece
July 23, 1933 ~ July 23, 2013

Mareita was born to Mr. & Mrs. Harold W. Peters on July 23, 1933 in Anadarko, Oklahoma.

She was graduated from the Anadarko High School in 1951 and attended the Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha, Oklahoma.

On June 26, 1953, she married Dr. C. Herman Reece in Anadarko. Mareita bore and tenderly loved four children: Marla Jean, Charles Edwin, Don Harold and Nancy Ann.

Mareita and Herman became the first CBMC/OKC Metro Director ministry couple to business men and their wives in 1983, after Herman had worked as an Oral and Maxillo-facial surgeon in Oklahoma City since 1957.

Jesus got Mareita's place ready in Heaven, as He promised in John 14:2-3, and He came and took her home on July 23, 2013, to be with Him for the rest of eternity. She has now completed the metamorphosis of being transformed into the image of Christ, as God promised in Romans 8:29.

Mareita was an active member of Northwest Baptist Church for 56 years. She served as Children's Division Coordinator for several years and then enjoyed teaching Jr. High and High School girls. She and Herman served for many years as Bible teachers for Married Young Adults. They also led many Intimate Encounter Marriage Groups, helping to build strong marriages. Her real passion was seeing people receive Jesus Christ as Lord and helping them grow in Christ-likeness. She had a tender and patient heart. If there is someone God wants to love through you, do it today.

The last week Mareita was on earth she was able to help her hospice assistant meet Jesus! That is ending well! Psalms 119:112

Mareita's hobby was using porcelain paint to place animals, vegetables and especially birds and flowers on white china. She enjoyed giving these to family and friends. She painted a special animal for each grandson and painted a tea set for each of her grand-daughters for their sixth birthdays.

Mareita is survived by her husband, Dr. C. Herman Reece; a daughter Marla Raczkowski and her husband Rick; a son Dr. Charles Reece and his wife Dr. Kim Reece; a son Don Reece and his wife Denise; daughter Nancy VanReece and her partner Joan; eight grand-children: Julia Raczkowski Hay and her husband Matt; Joan Raczkowski; Dr. Carolyn Reece Beville and her husband Sean; Katherine Reece; Rebekah Reece, David Reece, Noah Reece and Nathanael Reece; two great grand-daughters: Kendall Mareita Hay and Claire Elizabeth Beville.

She is also survived by Herman's two sisters Betty Reece Bell and Joyce Reece Milton; and by several cousins and many dear friends.

Her body will be interred at a private family service, and her Memorial Celebration Service will be at 11:00am on July 27 at Northwest Baptist Church located at 3030 NW 23rd.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests a gift in Mareita's honor to Northwest Baptist Church Oklahoma City, OK 73107.
