Joseph David Lindsay Jr
March 24, 1887 ~ June 5,1960


Funeral services for Joseph David Lindsay, a pioneer county resident, were held at 3 o'clock this afternoon in Sevier's Chickasha Funeral Home chapel. Rev. Paul Palmer officiated.

Mr. Lindsay died June 5 in the Veteran's Hospital at Oklahoma City following a heart attack. He had been hospitalized since May 11.

He was born March 24, 1887 in Silver City, Indian Territory, east of Tuttle and moved to Chickasha with his parents in 1889.

On Aug 22, 1919, he and Miss Florence Wasserbeck were married.

Mr. Lindsay was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, a veteran of World War I and a member of Hurst-Beaton Post of the American Legion.

Survivors are his wife, Florence Lindsay, 1028 South 18th; a daughter, Mrs. Johnny Jones of Richardson, Tex.; one son, Lt. [j.g.] Curtis Lindsay who arrived in Chickasha Tuesday evening from Japan where he is stationed with the Navy Air Force at Tackekawa; three brothers, Frank of Clinton, Felix of Chickasha and Alex of Woodville; and four grandchildren. A son, Joseph David Lindsay, Jr. preceded him in death in June 1955.

Interment was in Fairlawn Cemetery under direction of Sevier's Chickasha Funeral Home.
