June 17, 1918 ~ September 27, 2011

Percilla Lee Heisler Lamar, age 93, of Chickasha OK, was born the daughter of Charles A. Heisler and Mae Whitley Heisler on June 17, 1918, on a farm west of Chickasha. She died on September 27, 2011, in Chickasha.

Percilla went to grade school at Sandlin School which was about two miles from home. For the first two or three years of school, she rode in a buggy then walked the rest of the time. Her high school days were spent at Verden School staying with her Whitley grandparents through the week and eating lunch with Grandmother Heisler across the street from the school. Percilla attended Oklahoma College For Women (USAO) for four years and graduated in May of 1940. While attending college, she belonged to Pi Zeta Kappa.

She met Robert "Bob" Andrew Lamar while in high school. They were married on her college graduation day on May 26, 1940, which was her mother's birthday. They lived in Rush Springs OK for three years then moved to Verden OK where Bob taught Vo-Ag. After four years, they moved to Chickasha where Bob was a county agent until 1978.

At the age of 14, Percilla joined the Methodist Church at Verden. In 1947, Percilla became a member of the Epworth United Methodist Church where she was a member of the United Methodist Women's Circle. Percilla also helped with the youth groups at the church and played the piano for the Wedding Ring Class for fifty years. She was a member of the 1938 Study Group, the Floribunda Flower Club, and the County Home Demonstration Club. Percilla enjoyed embroidering and quilting.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Mae Heisler, and her husband, Robert Andrew Lamar.

Survivors include her son Angus Kent and wife Carmen Lamar; daughter Robin May Irving; grandsons Robert Houston Lamar, Angus Andrew Lamar and wife Kristin Lamar, and Mark Kipling "Kip" Irving and wife Kim Irving; granddaughter Karla Kay Ellis; great-grandchildren Madison Elisabeth Irving, Gage Andrew Irving, and Houston Andrew Lamar.
