John William Crook
October 1, 1929 ~ July 9, 2007


Funeral service for John William Crook, age 77, of Lindsay, Oklahoma will be held 1:30 p.m. Thursday July 12, 2007 in the Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home in Chickasha.

John William Crook was born October 1, 1929 at Waynoka, Oklahoma. He was the son of Aaron and Dolly Faye [Smelcher] Crook. He died Monday July 9, 2007 in Chickasha.

Mr. Crook married Wanda Fay McKenna May 15, 1950 in Waynoka.

He lived in Iowa almost 50 years. He had worked as a mechanic at the Hyperion Golf Course in Johnston, Iowa.

He had lived in Lindsay for the last nine years.

His parents, three sisters and their husbands Lois and Lloyd Corbin, Janice and Kenneth Sayers and Doris and Jack Benefield and one brother Gerald Crook all preceded him in death.

Survivors include: his wife: Wanda Fay Crook of the home in Lindsay; daughter: Sandra Faye Urbin and husband Greg of Maryland; son: Bobby Lee Crook and wife Sylvia of Iowa; three sisters: Thelma Carter and husband Robert of Boone, Iowa; Dorothy Sunstrum of Boone, Iowa; Sharon Hathaway and husband Keith of Sherman, Tex; three brothers: Gene Crook of Boone, Iowa; Bill Crook and wife Debbie of Boone, Iowa; Chester Crook and wife Diane of Boone, Iowa; grandchildren: Christina, Scott, Joseph and Ben Funke, Angela Gillis and husband John, Christopher, Melissa and Jason Crook; eleven great- grandchildren.

Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery, Chickasha, Oklahoma under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.

Wanda Fay [McKenna] Crook
December 15, 1931 ~ January 9, 2011


Funeral service for Wanda Fay Crook, 79, of Lindsay, Oklahoma will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, January 15, 2011 in the Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home, Chickasha.

Wanda Fay Crook was born near Fargo, Oklahoma on her grandparents farm, December 15, 1931 to Ted and June McKenna. She died Sunday, January 9, 2011 in Annapolis, Maryland.

She married the love of her life John W. Crook at Waynoka, Oklahoma May 15, 1950 by Reverend Clyde B. Ironhart. They had two children, Sandra Faye and Bobby Lee. She retired from F.W. Woolworth after 31 yrs. She graduated from Waynoka High, class of 1950.

She was preceded in death by her husband John on July 9, 2007, parents Ted McKenna 1987, June McKenna 1994, brother Richard 2005, sister-in-law Dolly McKenna 2008, two nephews, Daniel and Tony McKenna, niece Carla Sue McKenna.

She is survived by: Daughter: Sandra Faye and husband Greg Urbin of, Arnold, MD, Son: Bobby Lee and wife Sylvia Crook of Des Moines, IA, 8 grandchildren: Scott, Joe, Ben Funke; Angela Gillis and Christina Funke; Christopher Crook, Melissa Crook, Jason Crook and wife, Melissa, 11 great grandchildren: Brothers: Jim McKenna of Chickasha, Bill McKenna and wife Charlotte of Alex, OK, Donnie McKenna and wife Connie of Alex, OK, Dwight McKenna and wife Cindy of Red Oak, OK, Leon McKenna and wife Mariland of Enid, OK, Sisters: Levitta Smith of Longview, TX, Virginia Sinnett and husband Harry of Newalla, OK, Betty Sims and husband Mike of Norman, OK, Stella Branson and husband Lyn of Covington, OK, Sister-in-law: Cynthia McKenna of Independence, VA. Several nieces and nephews.

Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
